So, you’ve got a new bathroom; the last thing you want to do is make it really dirty, ruin the tiles, block the plugs and make it seem like just another old bathroom. You want to keep the sparkle of your brand new bathroom, and we’ve got you covered with some bathroom cleaning tips.
The first of our bathroom cleaning tips will prepare you to give your bathroom a good deep clean: clear everything out. Whether it be toiletries, towels or a bath mat, take it out of the room to get it out of the way. Get some storage to be able to organise your toiletries when you go to put it back in the bathroom after cleaning.
Our next tip is to not scrub too hard when getting rid of grime and limescale. It’s a common mistake people make when they’re trying to get their bathroom to sparkle; instantly you think scrub it until it comes off. The real trick is to let your cleaning solutions settle on the dirt for a while to dissolve it before scrubbing it off with a sponge that’s not too rough; for the smaller, tighter areas get an old toothbrush to scrub with.
White vinegar: a cheap product that’ll become your best friend when cleaning the bathroom. You can use white vinegar to clean pretty much anything. Use it to unclog your sink (mixed with a little bit of bicarbonate of soda), or unclog your shower head; it can also be used to remove stains from the sink, bath or toilet bowl.
The last of our bathroom cleaning tips is to clean daily to avoid the frequent need for a deep clean! You can do this by adding small things into your showering routine such as using a squeegee to wipe down the condensation on the shower door or bathroom tiles and ensuring that no dirt builds up in the sink.
